Silicone products can be seen everywhere in our lives. Sometimes the silicone products we buy will have some pungent odors. How can we remove these odors?
1. Ventilation method
The method we often use for odorous silicone products is to put them in a ventilated place, and let the odors dissipate through air flow. The new basketball shoes will have the smell of silicone, because they are all made of silicone outsole, so the new shoes we buy will be placed in a ventilated place.

2. Boiled method
Boil the purchased silicone products in water to remove the peculiar smell, but these products must be high temperature resistant silicone products.

3. Grapefruit peel deodorant/activated charcoal deodorant
Some special products cannot be boiled. You can use bags or boxes to put grapefruit peel or activated carbon and silica gel products together. Both grapefruit peel and activated carbon have a strong deodorizing effect. This method can also be used if the silica gel in the car is very thick. Put some activated carbon or grapefruit peel in the car.

The three methods listed are the easiest way to deodorize. In fact, the main reason for these problems is that in order to save costs, some silica gel factories use ordinary vulcanizing agents that are not environmentally friendly and inexpensive, instead of environmentally friendly odorless vulcanizing agents that can completely pass ROHS testing. The vulcanizing agent is a kind of catalyst that promotes the vulcanization and molding of silica gel raw materials. It will volatilize after molding the silica gel product, and only a small part will remain, which will be volatilized after 48 hours. The vulcanizing agent will not harm human products, but the low-cost vulcanizing agent will produce a burnt and pungent smell, which will evaporate for about a month. Therefore, when choosing silicone products, try to choose better performance and odorless silicone products. Especially for silicone kitchenware, the requirements are more stringent.
